ABOUT THE WORK

“The act of revealing oneself fully to another and still be accepted may be the major vehicle of therapeutic help.”
— Irving Yalom

Approach

My style is authentic, conversational, and adaptable in nature; you will be met with respect and a nonjudgmental ear. I work always to create and maintain a nonjudgmental environment and safe space for the therapeutic work to unfold. My approach is client-centered and led, and I will primarily journey alongside you..

My interventions and treatment methods are research-based and primarily draw upon psychodynamic, interpersonal-process, mindfulness-based, and cognitive-behavioral perspectives. I tend to emphasize two components to therapy: processing / insight-oriented techniques and behavioral skills and coping strategies. I have training and experience in various trauma therapies, mindfulness and exposure and response prevention. Additionally, I am versed in the physical and philosophical tenets of yoga and can incorporate the precepts, breathing techniques, and/or physical postural practice into the work based upon interest and appropriateness.
